We have been eagerly awaiting the change of seasons from the cold gray days of winter to the brighter, warmer ones of spring - the days are growing longer, birds are chirping again and trees are budding. Soon the grayness of winter will be replaced with a panoply of color as flowers bloom and everything greens up.
Worldwide, cherry blossoms symbolize poise and exquisite beauty; their nature of blooming en masse is an enduring metaphor for the ephemeral nature of life, a burst of colors that celebrate the vitality of Spring. REDValentino pays homage to the Japanese culture and in particular to the Hanami tradition dedicating a special dress, developed in crepe envers satin, with short sleeves and gathered flounced at the hem. It is detailed with an organza collar, doubled in point d’esprit tulle and embellished with delicate organza flowers in shades of pink. The dress is inspired by the idea of a romantic dreamer, an unconventional and graceful woman who treats style like a land of endless and eccentric possibilities. If you are in Japan, don’t miss the opportunity to discover it in our stores!
For the occasion, REDValentino teamed with talented María Medem an illustrator who produces comics and zines. She has illustrated for many international publications such as the New York Times, the New Yorker and Bloomberg Businessweek. Her works are to us a mesmerizing wanderlust through dream and colorful imagination. Enjoy her artful storytelling and be ready to welcome our favourite season of the year. We look forward to longer days and updating our wardrobes for sunny-warm weather! Yay!
