For Fall Winter 2019-20, REDValentino proposes a romantic look du jour.
Light and ethereal, structured and sharp, pleating is an iconic detail which features heavily in this season’s collection. Floral prints in nude and bourdeaux, cover plissé soleil with single pleats that are thinner at the waist and get larger as they make their way towards the hemline.
A dense thread embroidery depicting an intricate floral motif on a macramé base also features heavily on short and longer tulle dresses, adding that special chic touch. The embroideries were inspired by ancient tapestries, typical of the 18th century Chinoiserie (a style, inspired by Oriental art and design from Asian countries), which led to the creation of the French motif of the toile de jouy.
On the other hand, how to wear floral prints without being predictable? Why not try layering one of our tulle embroidered dresses over a top? It will add that extra layer of heat and will make you look cool during the slightly chiller autumn days ahead.
